7 Wonders is a strategic card game for 2/7 players centred on a draft mechanic* whose aim is to build the most powerful ancient civilisation of all.
(*Draft = Mechanic in which each player has a hand of cards, chooses one and passes the rest to whoever sits next to him. This is done a number of times and then each player plays with the final hand drawn).
You are the leader of one of the seven most illustrious cities of Antiquity.
Develop your civilisation in the military, scientific, cultural and economic fields, but watch out for the progress of your neighbours who share your ambitions!
There are many ways to score victory points in 7 Wonders: building your own Wonder Stadiums, developing scientific areas, constructing civil buildings, winning military conflicts, assembling guilds, trading and amassing wealth.
To perform all these actions, players need resources, produced each turn by cards, and must therefore rely not only on themselves, but also on the resources produced by their neighbours!
A game is played in 3 rounds, called Epochs. For each Epoch, each player receives 7 cards face down. In each round, players simultaneously choose a card according to their strategy, play it and pass the remaining hand to their neighbour.
The cards represent the different Buildings they can build: resource production, civil, commercial, military, scientific and guilds.
At the end of each Epoch, players will go to war with their two neighbours. At the end of the 3 Epochs, players will count the victory points provided by their City, Wonder, Military Effectiveness and Treasure. The player with the highest score wins the game.
